AppScreenshoot

Last updated

AppScreenshoot is a browser studio for App Store and Google Play screenshots, and the template collection that comes with it. You bring real app screens, the studio handles the frames, sizes and exports the stores ask for, and you are left with a set of listing images that make one point each.

Why screenshots get this much attention

A store listing is judged before it is read. Someone scrolling comparisons sees three things: your icon, your rating, and your screenshots. Nothing in the listing does more work per pixel, and nothing is harder to fix late — by the time a submission is rejected for artwork, the design conversation is over.

Most teams make screenshots in an image editor they are not using for the rest of their work, then discover the export is a few pixels off, or the caption is unreadable at the size the store actually shows it. AppScreenshoot exists to keep those two jobs together: decide what each screen proves, then produce files that satisfy the specification.

What is in the product

  • Template collection — complete, connected sets rather than single frames, each with editable text, colour and layout layers. Filter by category and style, and by what a Free plan can use.
  • The studio — an artboard editor that runs in the browser. Import your own captures, arrange the sequence, preview the whole strip, and export PNG, JPEG or a ZIP with a dimensions manifest.
  • Store sizes — Apple iPhone and iPad targets, Google Play phone and tablet screenshots, Chromebook landscape, and the 1024 × 500 feature graphic, each with its own count and dimension guidance.
  • Focused tools — check a file against a specification, resize a set, or build device artwork without opening a full project.
  • Saved projects — sign in to keep designs and brand assets across devices. Everything you make before that stays in your browser.

How we think about the work

One claim per screen

A screenshot should make a point you could say out loud. If it needs a paragraph, it is a paragraph with a screenshot attached.

Real screens beat mockups

Sample artwork in a template is a starting point, not a finished listing. The store review is of your app, so the set should show it.

Sizes are a design constraint

iPhone, iPad, Google Play phone and the feature graphic are different canvases with different reading distances. Choose the destination before you design for it.

Fewer controls, more judgment

The studio leaves the decisions that matter — layout, copy, sequence — in your hands, and handles the parts that are pure mechanics.

Who builds it

AppScreenshoot is built by one person: Rico, who designs and maintains the studio, the template catalog and the size rules together. The guides in the blog come from the same hands — each note starts as a change that had to be made somewhere in the product.

Plans, and how the free tier works

You can browse the collection, edit a draft and export screenshots without an account or a card. Templates marked Pro need a subscription — $19 USD monthly or $120 USD yearly, billed through Stripe, cancel whenever you like. The pricing page spells out the difference, and the Terms of Service cover what you may do with the designs you export.
