App screenshot templates for the screen you need
Choose a template for the way it tells your app's story. A bold headline can help a simple utility explain its benefit; a quieter layout can give a detailed product screen more room. The gallery above shows published designs from the editor, so you can compare complete sets before choosing a starting point.
App Store screenshot templates and Google Play screenshot templates share a design task: make the real product easy to understand. Their output requirements differ. Choose the destination canvas before finalizing your spacing. These shortcuts open a new sized project; use a gallery card when you want to start with that specific design.
Choose a layout around your real app content
Look at the first screen and the rest of the sequence together. A useful set can show the outcome, the action that delivers it, and a supporting feature. Avoid choosing a design only because its sample text looks good. Replace that text mentally with your own message and check whether the composition still has enough space.
Use the category and style filters to narrow the collection. For a product with dense charts or lists, leave more room for the app capture. For a focused task, a short headline and a larger crop can make the action clearer. Keep type, colors and alignment consistent across the set while allowing each image to make a distinct point.
Turn a starting point into your screenshot set
Replace the examples
Open a template and add your own screen captures. Replace sample headlines, background imagery and any device frame that does not match your product. The editor's layers let you work on text and images separately. Save a copy of your source captures so you can revise the artwork without taking them again.
Check the whole sequence
Use the strip preview to inspect the order. The first image should explain one useful outcome; later images should provide new evidence. A connected background can tie the set together, but important text and controls still need to work within each individual screenshot. Do not place essential information across an export boundary.
Check dimensions after changing a template
Device artwork and output dimensions are different things. An iPhone frame does not determine the size of the exported canvas. Likewise, an iPad screenshot template needs more than a stretched phone image: use a tablet capture, adjust the text and verify the final canvas. For Android screenshot templates, check the chosen Google Play target and replace mismatched phone artwork.
Export one image early and inspect its pixel dimensions and readable content. The studio supports PNG and JPEG; set export scale to 1× when you need the canvas's exact dimensions. Transparent exports and larger scale settings can produce files that need adjustment before store upload. See the export help and target catalog for the available presets and source links.
Before the final export, remove placeholder copy, confirm that all screenshots show features your app actually offers, and check that text remains legible when the image is reduced. For a separate Google Play feature graphic, use the dedicated 1024 × 500 canvas rather than cropping a portrait screenshot.
Questions about screenshot templates
What is included in an app screenshot template?
A template is an editable design document with its own screen sequence, text, images and layout. The collection preview is an export of that document. Open the template in the studio to inspect the individual layers before replacing the example content.
Are all app screenshot templates free?
No. Templates marked Free are available on the Free plan. Pro provides access to the complete collection. Use the Free to use filter to narrow the gallery, and check the pricing page for the maintained plan details.
Where do I choose iPhone screenshot templates?
Browse the visual styles in this collection, then use an iPhone canvas in the studio. The canvas links above open a new project at a specific size; they do not automatically adapt an existing template. Review a template's layout before changing its dimensions.
Can I use these as Android screenshot templates?
Use the collection as a design starting point, replace the sample screen with your Android capture, and set an appropriate Google Play canvas. If the template contains an Apple frame, replace it or remove the frame so the image matches your actual app.
How should I adapt a template for iPad?
Start with your real tablet screenshot. Give the app screen enough space for its wider interface, then reposition the headline and supporting text. Check the complete composition at the chosen iPad output dimensions rather than stretching a phone design.
Can I submit the preview image from the gallery?
Use it to judge the design, then export your own finished images from the studio. Gallery previews contain sample content and may use preview dimensions. Check the downloaded files, remove placeholder text and upload your own screenshots to the store console.
